You may be eligible to emigrate to Canada if you have:

• A recognised qualification (C&G I & II, BTec, HND, BA, MA, PHD)
• At least 2 years work experience related to your qualification
• Be between 18 & 49 yrs old for maximum age points. There is no age limit however you will loose 2 points per year.

If you have been self employed, run a business or been at a senior management level, you may be able to get a Business Visa. With this you can set up a business in Canada and when you can show performance indicators within a 3 year period, you can then become a Permanent Residence.

If you have lots of money (minimum C$800,000), prove how you got it and how long it took you, you could get Permanent residency. You would have to invest $400,000 with the Canadian government, interest free for 5 yrs. There is an alternative.

If you want to work in the USA you will need a job before you apply for a visa. The job will require a degree equivalent qualification. This is a temporary visa and may/may not lead to a ‘Green Card’.

If you want to set up a business in the USA , you may do so whether you have experience or not, but you have to put a substantial amount of money at risk and have a second form of income.
